About me

Elizabeth Davidson-Sims

I'm a first-year design student studying at the University of Auckland. I'm interested in sustainable design and in exploring ways to use design to impact our earth positively.
As a designer, I am inspired by the anti-fashion culture and designers of the 80's-90's, and how the design work by the likes of Martin Margiela and Rei Kawakubo had such a profound impact on not only the trends of fashion but how people consumed and interacted with clothing. At the end of my Design degree, I can see myself working to decrease fast-fashion consumption through creating alternate clothing buying pathways with the same level of affordability as fast fashion, minus the environmental and human impact. Over the next four years, I expect to gain the skills needed to design well consistently in our changing world and have sustainability be an essential unifier of all my designs.
